It’s Been a Yes Day
It’s mid-November and getting chilly here in Georgia. Our summer garden is long gone. The night comes early. The work day feels long, and this year has been hell. I mean, it’s 2020 - what else do I need to say?
But today was different. I got enough sleep, had enough coffee, and plowed through my to-do list at lightening speed. And then I wrote my December goals for writing.
I have a specific bullet journal for writing. It’s a beautifully crafted book from Archer & Olive with a perfect dot grid and black paper. The silver embossed lunar cycle on the front reminds me of the changing seasons, the continual passing of time. Something I think about often. Sometimes I feel like I’m getting older faster than my dreams are getting accomplished and I feel small, overwhelmed. I shy away from my big goals, because what’s the point in finishing them anyway? I can always start tomorrow, or the year after that. But not today.
Not today, my friends. Not today.
Today was for writing. Today was for getting enough of my work together to create this site. Today was for saying, yes I can do this. Yes, I will do this. Yes, I am worthy and capable and deserving.
Yes, I am excited to share my writing with you. Yes, I am absolutely terrified. Yes, I’m doing it anyway.
Hey, I’m Rowan the Writer. Welcome.
